Permaculture Consultation

This is a deeper dive into the long term strategies for your property and/or organization for those who already know the value a permaculture designer can bring to the project. You may have already had an initial 2-4 hour consultation with us, and/or you know we'll be a good fit!

Includes detailed site assessment (sun, wind, water, upcycling opportunities), in-depth questions about short and long-terms goals for you and your property.

May include:

• identifying existing plants on site including invasives or plant suggestions
• potential edible plant integration (and others that could be potentially useful)
• rainwater harvesting and organic waste reduction/composting potential
• soil assessment, budget discussions and planning
• creative idea generation
• strategies for climate adaptation
• potential animal integration
• water-saving strategies
• other support, as needed.

Includes a 5 page report.

Consultation may all happen in one day, or might be spread our over 2 or more days, as needed. Meetings could be on site at your Greater Vernon area location, or it may be entirely virtual or a combination of both. Let's discuss what works best for you.

Once booked we'll get in touch to find a day and time that works for us both and we'll do some prep work to offer perspective and get up to date on your organization or home or site and find ways to achieve your goals, be they climate-related, landscape, water, waste or beyond.

On-site visits outside Greater Vernon are also available, mileage rates will apply.

2 hours at your site in the Greater Vernon area with a Certified Permaculture Designer (PDC) and ARCSA Certified Rainwater Harvesting System Designer.

Includes a half hour of pre- or post research (may include maps, documents, links or strategic connections, recommendations, etc)

Once purchased, we will contact you to set up a date and time that works for us both.

We work with you to find a time that suits both of our needs monthly so you can stay motivated, inspired and productive.

Once booked, we'll reach out and assess your needs and goals for the year and how we can help. Every client is unique and we'll tailor the support to you.

We strive to creatively increase local resilience through regenerative land design using permaculture principles to improve human and soil health, reduce waste and build community.

SDG #15: Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, and halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss.

The Thompson Okanagan region has some unique challenges that we'd like to help you address.

Specifically, we are experiencing more drought and wildfires, we saw the 2021 "atmospheric river" cut off highway access and therefor food shipments and travellers and yet tourists keep coming, regardless.

What can you do at your site to address some of these things and inspire your guests?

We help you look at the land around your building through a climate lens and offer solutions, suggestions, strategies and assistance to increase resilience, food security, rainwater harvesting, organic waste reduction and find the right plants that are local and drought resistant, but also beautiful.

This package is 4 hours of consultation which may include virtual chats, research, design, recommendations, connections and creative and innovative ideas to strengthen our local economy. They may be all at once, or split into two or three talks.
